Rosemarie Amtmann was the first lady to tackle the Gastein 24-hour Ski-Touring Race. Though she did not have any competition in her division and despite stomach problems which forced her to stop for a few hours, she put up an outstanding sporting performance and logged 11,059 vertical metres, which would have put her in 15th place in the men’s rankings.
